On Sunday 23rd February, 20 Eryri Orienteering Club members travelled to Clowbridge near Burnley, to take part in the CompassSport Trophy qualifying round.
Despite horrendous weather we achieved a fantastic set of results and did enough to qualify for the national final! Everyone who took part contributed to the success, but special mention goes to the following who achieved podium positions in their age categories.
Gold:
Megan Jones - Women Under 14
Marty Jones - Men Under 18
Samuel Drinkwater - Men Open
Ian Jones - Men Over 50
Sarah Barnwell - Women Over 60
Silver:
Olwen Baines - Women Under 18
Anna Drinkwater - Women Open
Bronze:
Michael Corrales - Men Open
Matthew Fortes - Men Over 40
The final takes place near Redcar on September 14th and all club members are welcome to take part. The more people we have competing the better our result will be, so put the date in your diary and plan your trip to the North East!
